Arlington Charities

At St. Andrew’s we believe in putting our faith to work by helping others in our Arlington family. We partner with various charities throughout the area, including AFAC, A-SPAN, and APAH. There’s always a way for all ages to be involved – please send a note to our Parish Administrator for more information on the programs below.

Arlington Charities - AFAC

Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC)

Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC) is a primary outreach partner for St. Andrew’s. Working in our Garden, hosting the annual Empty Bowls fundraiser, or donating non-perishable food are some of the ways we support this important community organization and help feed Arlington’s hungry. Dave Smith and Jen Gowetski are our AFAC leads.

PathForward’s Bagged Meals for the Homeless

In support of PathForward (formerly A-SPAN), we gather in the church kitchen to prepare bagged meals for those without homes. A few volunteers then hand out the meals at a local spot, providing an opportunity to meet those in need and see first-hand the impact this important outreach has. All ages are welcome – there’s plenty of opportunity for everyone. Marcela Scott is our PathForward lead.

Arlington Charities - APAH

The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree

For the Christmas season, St. Andrew’s participates in the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program. Individuals and families become Santa for a local child, shopping for new clothing, gifts and/or toys from the wish lists of Arlington’s most needy families. Jen Gowetski is our Angel Tree lead.

APAH’s Backpacks

In late summer we collect backpacks and back-to-school supplies for those living in the Arlington Partnership for Affordable Housing (APAH) residences. Jen Gowetski is our APAH lead.
