St. Andrew’s Plot Against Hunger Garden

The St. Andrew’s Garden is our key on-site community service activity and supports AFAC’s Plot Against Hunger project. Blessed with a large campus, St. Andrew’s took an unused plot of land and turned it into what was the first church garden to join the Plot Against Hunger program, regularly yielding over 1000 pounds of produce each year. Volunteers of all ages – including both parishioners and partners from nearby Marymount University and Arlington Junior League – plant, water, maintain, harvest and deliver produce. Last year we planted a 24-tree apple to create more offerings to AFAC in the future. Anyone with a desire to get their hands a little dirty and grow food for those in need are welcome!
