St. Andrew’s Players: “Whistle Down the Wind”

Based on the novel by Mary Hayley Bell and the screenplay by Willis Hall and Keith Waterhouse and the film by Richard Attenborough and Bryan Forbes. Adapted by Russell Labey and Richard Taylor.

  • Needed: large, flexible supporting cast of children, teens, and adults.
  • 4 featured roles for adults
  • 12 featured roles for children
  • 5 principal roles: Cathy (late teens); Nan (younger than Cathy), Charlie (age 8-12), Dad, and The Man (Jesus/convict)

All who audition will be taught a song to be performed in a small group setting. Because there is no major choreography, movement will not be required.

Those who audition for featured singing and principal roles should prepare a song of 16 bars, or no more than one minute, which may be sung a cappella or with sheet music; appropriate key preferred.
